With Couture Week over and done with last month, and a month-long wait for the Fashion Weeks, India International Jewellery Week couldn’t have come at a better time.
Whether you prefer traditional Indian jewellery or are inclined towards more modern designs, the participants of IIJW had something for everyone with famed jewellery designers and brands partaking in the first ever Indian jewellery week held at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. The shows showcased statement necklaces, bracelets and earrings in gold, kundan, diamonds and polki.
The week kick started off with Farah Ali Khan, whose designs, front row and show stopper made sure that the week would be anything but ordinary. Whereas, Dino Morea walked the ramp with Queenie Singh and a medallion round his neck, proving that bling is not reserved solely for women and hip-hop stars.
Keeping brides in mind, Gitanjali’s Parineeta collection drew inspiration from Mughal, Rajput and Nizaam eras while Amrapali stuck with traditional kamarbands and jadau pendants attached to beaded strings.
The week's finale showcased the best designs of all the participating 30 designers. With so many amazing designs to choose from we shortlisted our ten favourite pieces that would make us part with our cash.
